Raising Awareness and Supporting ME Patients

ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, is a debilitating neurological illness that impacts over 7,000 people in Northern Ireland. Many patients suffer without a diagnosis or treatment plan, feeling stigmatized and unsupported. ME Support NI, a charity founded by Antoinette and David from west Belfast, offers invaluable aid to ME patients, providing emotional and practical support to those in need.

Sinn Fein representatives recently held a meeting with ME Support NI to highlight the importance of their work. The charity aims to increase awareness, improve healthcare services for patients, and advocate for proper diagnosis and care pathways. It is working tirelessly to ensure patients have access to quality healthcare and specialist support, which is currently lacking. There is hope for positive change, including the potential appointment of a specialist in this healthcare field.

ME Support NI continues its mission to support and empower patients, with a heartfelt dedication to making a difference for those affected by this chronic and painful condition.
