Our Plan to Improve the Lives of People with ME/CFS

The UK government has outlined a comprehensive plan to support individuals living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). Key highlights include:

  1. Interim Delivery Plan:
    • Published in August 2023, the plan identifies 21 actions aimed at improving understanding, research, and care for ME/CFS.
    • It focuses on three main themes: research, attitudes and education, and living with ME.
  2. Consultation Process:
    • A consultation was launched to gather feedback from individuals with ME/CFS, carers, and healthcare professionals.
    • Insights from this process will inform the development of a final delivery plan.
  3. Collaborative Approach:
    • The plan was developed in collaboration with people living with ME/CFS, support workers, and healthcare professionals.
    • It emphasizes the importance of addressing challenges such as stigma, low research funding, and the need for better healthcare services.

This initiative represents a significant step toward improving the quality of life for individuals affected by ME/CFS
